Six members of an ocean-research crew are forced to abandon their vessel after a major equipment failure. The vessel’s automatic distress system transmitted its last known coordinates before failing, but you do not know whether the complete distress message was received. Everyone reaches an inflatable emergency raft. No one has a life-threatening injury, although several people have minor cuts and bruises. The raft is holding air, but one side scraped against debris during the evacuation. The raft has no motor or sail and has very limited steering.
